The Christadelphians ("Brethren in Christ") are a group of Bible believers who strive to pattern ourselves after the faith and organization of the first century
church. The word "ecclesia" is a Biblical term simply meaning "called out ones." We have been in existence for over 150 years.
We can be found in many countries throughout the world. Like the believers of the first century, we may meet in homes, rented rooms or buildings, or in some cases our own buildings. Here we have Bible studies, fellowship, Bible talks, children's programs, and our weekly Memorial Service, where we remember our Lord Jesus Christ as He commanded us to until He returns to establish the righteous Kingdom of God upon the earth.
The Christadelphians are a lay community just as the first century Christians were. We address each member as "Brother" or "Sister." We have one Father, the God of the Bible, the Creator and Sustainer of all things. We have one head, the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. All members of each ecclesia have a joint responsibility for the welfare of each meeting. A strong common belief binds our worldwide body together. While we emphasize the importance of understanding true Bible doctrine, we also stress the necessity of striving to live by the Biblical principles God gave us through His Son. We recognize that salvation is by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
The Richmond-Petersburg Christadelphian ecclesia serves the Brothers, Sisters, and visitors living in the Central Virginia area. In addition we welcome many Brothers, Sisters, and friends from other parts of the country or globe who may be visiting the Richmond, Virginia area.
